I’m the author of two collections of short stories, Zero Gravity and Uncomfortably Numb, and a novel called What Has Night To Do With Sleep? which is currently being represented by the The McDermid Agency.
Zero Gravity was long-listed for the Giller Prize, short-listed for a ReLit Award, and included in the Globe & Mail‘s annual Best 100 titles of the year. I’ve appeared in the anthology Dark Mountain 5, published by the Dark Mountain Project in the UK, and the online journal Dark Matter: Women Witnessing. Yes indeed: dark and more dark.
If I had to name something that unites my work, I’d say it’s a passionate inhabiting and evocation of place, whether earthly, urban or suburban. But perhaps I should say people? For people are of places, and my work is always character-driven. You can read others’ opinions about my writing on the books page of this site.
